Appreciation towards our team is an important sustainability factor for us. Because we trust each other in our rope team and rely on each other!
Upcycled elements are scattered throughout the house. Beautiful vintage furniture, family heirlooms, flea market treasures. Feel free to look around everywhere and get inspiration for your home.
We heat with district heating – a particularly sustainable solution because wood waste is used here.
We racked our brains for years and finally found the optimal construction method. For example, we can save on air conditioning and excessive heating. When you open the window in summer, you can feel the pleasant mountain air, with a refreshing breeze from the Ahrntal valley. Much better than air conditioning.
If you get thirsty in your room, draw yourself a glass of fresh, delicious mountain spring water, which bubbles directly from our tap. Or meet us in the bar for a drink.
We don’t automatically put out the plastic-wrapped bathing slippers. With their rubber soles and lots of plastic, they are often just rubbish. Because many guests have their own slippers with them. And if these disposable slippers are even taken out of the bag “just to look at”, we have to dispose of them directly. A regulation. That’s why you only get the slippers on request. Talk to us if you need some.
We also avoid individual and plastic packaging such as portioned butter. We serve homemade jam, regional honey and butter from the farmer at the breakfast buffet. We cut sausage and cheese fresh and in small quantities.
The tap water comes directly from the springs in the surrounding mountains. You can drink it from the tap. We provide you with a bottle to tap.

We have refillable soap dispensers in the rooms to avoid small packaging units. We do not use individually packaged cotton pads or files. Of course, we keep a small supply at reception in case you need a sewing kit or shoe polish cloth. Whatever, we are happy to help out.
When it comes to food, we pay attention to regional products and that we avoid waste. The bread is made by our aunt Liesl and her sons at the nearby Gatterer bakery. Sausage, meat and cheese come from regional suppliers as far as possible. This is not possible with all foods, but if we can save on delivery routes and thus reduce the burden on the environment, we always do so. We even grow herbs ourselves and use them in the kitchen and in our bar.
Our hotel is built with a construction method that is optimal for the indoor climate. We can save on air conditioning and excessive heating. By the way: if you simply open the window instead of the air conditioning in summer, you can feel the pleasant mountain air caressing your skin with a refreshing breeze from the Ahrntal valley.
We heat with district heating – also a particularly sustainable and modern solution, because wood waste is used here.

We are the third generation to run our hotels and are looking forward to showing you active holidays in Bruneck. To join in. We have two hotels waiting for you. Each has its own advantages. Just as each of us shares a passion with you. Christoph the wine. Markus his training and cooking, Manfred his contemporary history, Evi the knowledge of the herbs on our doorstep. Where are you drawn to?
